Entel starts LTE mobile TV trial with Rubberduck
Entel PCS Telecomunicaciones S.A., in partnership with Aspiro’s subsidiary Rubberduck Media Lab, has carried out trials for high-speed mobile TV over LTE. Rubberduck Media Lab tested high-quality TV signals streamed over LTE testbeds.
The tests with Entel PCS, which already runs a mobile TV service powered by Rubberduck over its 3G network, were rolled out in December 2009.

NEC completes LTE trial at Telefonica de Argentina
NEC has successfully completed LTE laboratory trials with Telefonica. The trial was rolled out between February and March at Telefonica de Argentina.
NEC provided Telefonica de Argentina labs with a total LTE network system that consisted of core network systems and wireless base stations. Around 100 test items requested by Telefonica were achieved while under a 20 MHz bandwidth, including a maximum throughput of 145 Mbps while connecting with a simulator device.
Additionally, the trials also achieved a maximum throughput of 95 Mbps using an actual LTE terminal. NEC also plans to participate in future Telefonica field trials.
Telefonica Moviles Venezuela LTE deployment 2nd half of 2011
Telefónica Móviles Venezuela - operating under the brand Movistar - plans to begin deploying LTE infrastructure in large cities across Venezuela during the second half of 2011. However, Movistar has not yet secured the necessary spectrum.

First LTE network trials in Latin America
Chilean operator Entel PCS has launched LTE network trials. The field tests are being developed in partnership with Ericsson, Carlos Rodriguez, Entel’s products and services manager, said in an interview with TeleSemana.
Entel PCS and Ericsson have already established the first internet connection through LTE technology in a field trial, using a network configuration similar to that of a usual site. According to Entel, this is the first LTE field trial rolled out in Latin America.
